Welcome!

I am an Intermediate and Senior (Grades 8-12) teacher in Qikiqtarjuaq, Nunavut where I have been employed since the Fall of 2015. Courses I have taught include English (Grades 8-12), Social Studies (Grades 8-12), and Health (Grades 8 & 9).

Lesson Plan Samples

This lesson focuses on the historic Inuit and Cree “Odeyak Voyage” with an emphasis on Aboriginal land rights, social justice, and peaceful acts of resistance. The lesson is differentiated and stresses inclusive, cooperative learning.

Student Work Samples

I was introducing Grade 12 University students to Hamlet and had them start with a low-pressure, fun, and short assignment in which they worked in small groups to create a poster that reflected “everything” they knew (or thought they knew!) about the play.
